چکیده

Since the introduction of the nanonetworks, molecular communication has become a popular research area in computer science. Although there are several methods proposed to implement molecular communication, none of them treats resources as discrete entities. We define resources as the discrete physical particles taking part in the communication tasks in a nanonetwork, such as information encoding. DIRECT is a novel networking scheme particularly aimed to model the re-use of resources in a confined operating environment. In DIRECT, resources do not disperse, they do not attenuate over time and they are considered 100% reusable, if properly harvested. In this paper, the impact of harvester location over the signal reception and the harvesting performance of the nodes are investigated. The main outcome of the paper is that, in terms of signal reception, the optimum location for the harvester is the midpoint between the sender and receiver nodes, whereas the harvesting performance increases as the harvester approaches the sender node.

Identification areas with inundation potential for urban runoff harvesting using the support vector machine model

Rainfall-runoff from urban areas is one of the available water resources, which is wasted due to lack of attention and proper management. Besides, urban runoff excess of drains capacity causing many problems including inundation and urban environmental pollution. Therefore, harvesting this runoff can provide a part of the required water in urban areas, and also reduce flood and urban inund...

Investigation of the Size Effect on the Nano-beam Type Piezoelectric Low Power Energy Harvesting

In this paper, size dependent beam type peizoelectric energy hardvester is investigated. For this goal, first nonlinear formulation of isotropic piezoelectric Euler-Bernoulli nano-beam is developed based on the size-dependent piezoelectricity theory then special beam type piezoelectric energy hardvester is probed for different parameters. Basic nonlinear equations of piezoelectric nano-beam are...

Investigating the Effect of Managed Rainwater Harvesting Systems on Increasing Plant Production, in Tang-e-Chenar, Yazd, Iran

A significant portion of the Shirkouh lands in the Mehriz city encompass irrigated and rainfed orchards. The livelihoods of the people in this area are mainly supported through farming and raising livestock. Many orchard products, especially Amygdalus sp. are rainfed and produce a good crop in rainy years. However, in the drought years, the production faces problems. This research was carried o...
